PLC Al-Safa Crowned Islamic Finance Entity of the Year with Gold Award at SLIBFI Awards 2025/26
People's Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC) Al-Safa Islamic Finance achieved a historic milestone by winning the prestigious “Islamic Finance Entity of the Year – Gold Award” at the Sri Lanka Islamic Banking and Finance Industry (SLIBFI) Awards 2025/26, emerging as the leading Islamic finance institution in the country among both banks and non-banking financial institutions.
This landmark achievement marks the first occasion in the history of PLC Al-Safa that it has secured the highest recognition in the industry-wide entity category, placing it ahead of several established Islamic finance providers in Sri Lanka. The award recognizes overall excellence in Islamic finance operations, business growth, innovation, governance, customer service, and contribution to the development of the Islamic finance industry.
Demonstrating its leadership and strength in the industry, PLC Al-Safa further secured two additional Gold Awards for “Islamic Finance NBFI of the Year” and “Islamic Finance Window/Unit of the Year,” reaffirming its position as a pioneering force in Sri Lanka’s Islamic finance landscape. The success of PLC Al-Safa extended beyond the entity category, with the organization securing a total of eight prestigious awards, including branch and individual recognition. Among these achievements, the Puttalam Al-Safa Branch won the Gold Award for Islamic Finance Branch of the Year, continuing its remarkable record as a consecutive winner. Individual accolades were also awarded to members of the PLC Al-Safa team, reflecting the depth of talent and commitment within the organization.
The remarkable accomplishment reflects the transformation and resurgence of PLC Al-Safa over the past few years through strategic leadership, innovation, operational excellence, and customer- centric Shari’ah-compliant financial solutions.
