People’s Leasing Marks 30 Years of Excellence with a Launch of a Commemorative Stamp Launch and First Day Cover
People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC), Sri Lanka’s leading non-banking financial institution and a subsidiary of People’s Bank, marked a significant milestone in its corporate journey with the launch of a Commemorative First Day Cover and Postage Stamp to celebrate its 30th Anniversary, becoming the first occasion on which the institution has been honored with a philatelic issue.
The commemorative stamp was officially unveiled on 09th June 2026 at the Auditorium of the Philatelic Bureau of the Postal Headquarters in collaboration with the Department of Posts. The issuance of special edition stamp recognizes People’s Leasing’s remarkable contribution to Sri Lanka’s financial services sector and its enduring commitment to empowering individuals, entrepreneurs, and businesses over the past three decades.
The commemorative stamp launch ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chairman of People’s Leasing & Finance PLC Prof. Ajantha Samarakoon, Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Mr. Sanjeewa Bandaranayake, members of the Corporate Management, Director of the Philatelic Bureau of Sri Lanka Post Mr. Lanka De Silva, Senior Publicity Officer Mr.Channa Munasinghe, Publicity Officer Ms.Thilini Rubasinghe and other distinguished invitees representing People’s Leasing & Finance PLC and the Philatelic Bureau.
Speaking on the significance of the occasion, Director of the Philatelic Bureau of the Department of Posts, Mr. Lanka De Silva, lauded People’s Leasing for its outstanding contribution to the nation’s economic progress and financial empowerment over the past 30 years. He stated that the commemorative stamp serves as a national recognition of the institution’s remarkable achievements, enduring public trust and its vital role in supporting the growth aspirations of Sri Lankans.
