People’s Leasing Enhances the Beauty of Ella
As another step in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) mission of People’s Leasing & Finance PLC, 25 platform benches were donated to the Ella Railway Station on March 4, 2026, at the station premises.
Ella Railway Station is one of the most popular and beautiful railway stations in the world, attracting over 1,000 local and foreign tourists daily.
The project was carried out under the guidance of Professor Ajantha Samarakoon, Chairman of People’s Leasing, and Mr. Sanjeewa Bandaranayake, Chief Executive Officer/General Manager. The initiative was coordinated by the People’s Leasing Bandarawela branch and facilitated by the Ella Station Master, Mr. Dushan Rangana Basnayake.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Ella Pradeshiya Sabha, Mr. Venura Malinda Dissanayake, stated: “We highly appreciate this contribution made by People’s Leasing & Finance PLC.”
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including: Ven. Ravana Elle Pagnananda Thero, Chief Incumbent of the Ravana Ella Sri Punyawardhanaramaya, Mr. K.P.R.S. Lionalsinghe, Deputy Superintendent of Railways (Operations), Mr. Chandika Jayaweera, Chief Manager of People’s Leasing, Mr. Dilan Dinesh, Branch Manager of People’s Leasing Bandarawela & The OIC of the Ella Police Station, local tourism business owners, and many other officials.
