People’s Leasing recognized for Energy Efficiency Excellence at Sri Lanka National Energy Efficiency Awards 2025
People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC), Sri Lanka’s leading licensed Non-Banking Financial Institution, was honored with a Merit Certificate under the Small Scale Category of the Commercial BuildingSector at the prestigious Sri Lanka National Energy Efficiency Awards (SLNEEA) 2025 which was organized by the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA) of Ministry of Energy.
The Award ceremony was held on 24th February 2025 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) under the theme “Energy Efficiency Refueling the Economy” highlighted the critical role of resource conservation in driving national fiscal stability and sustainable growth.
The event was graced by the Hon.Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya alongside with Hon. Ministry of Energy Eng.Kumara Jayakody, Hon.Deputy Minister of Energy Eng.Arkam Ilyas ,the Secretary to the Ministry of Energy Prof. Udayanga Hemapala and Chairman of SLSEA Prof.T.M.W.J.Bandara, along with a number of distinguished guests.
PLC was among an elite group of only 25 companies nationwide recognized for their outstanding contributions to reduce energy usage through the energy management and conservation efforts.
Sri Lanka National Energy Efficiency Awards competition is the national event conducted by the SLSEA for private and public sector institutions with the aim of recognizing their contribution towards an energy secure Sri Lanka. Evaluated by a panel of experts appointed by the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority, the awards celebrate excellence in the National Energy Efficiency (Establishments) category, Energy Services Companies (ESCO) and Outstanding Energy Managers of the Year.
This award underscores PLC’s commitment towards integrating Sustainability into its corporate DNA.
