People’s Leasing & Finance PLC Celebrates Excellence at the Premier Awards 2024/25
People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC) proudly hosted its prestigious annual Premier Awards Ceremony on 17th January 2026 at theShangri-La Hotel, Colombo with over 1,000 invitees, recognizing outstanding Branches and individuals who demonstrated exceptional performance during the financial year 2024/25.This year award ceremony themed was honoring an unstoppable journey of excellence.
The prestigious event honored the remarkable achievements of PLC branches and individuals from Branches and Head office in Marketing under Asset and Liability product categories and Recoveries whose exceptional performance during the 2024/25 financial year propelled the organization to new heights. More than a celebration of results, the ceremony served as a tribute to the dedication, commitment and excellence that define the People’s Leasing spirit, recognizing employees who played a pivotal role in driving business growth and reinforcing People’s Leasing’s position as one of Sri Lanka’s leading financial services providers.
The event brought together the Chairman of People’s Bank Prof. Narada Fernando, People’s Leasing Chairman Prof. Ajantha Samarakoon, Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer/General Manager of People’s Leasing Mr. Sanjeewa Bandaranayake, PLC Corporate Management, Chief Executive Officer of People’s Insurance PLC, Chief Executive Officer of People’s Micro Commerce Ltd, Senior Management, branch leadership, head of departments high – performing teams from across the island, invitees from PLC subsidiaries and the invitees from PLC branch network and head office to celebrate both collective and individual achievements. The occasion was further graced by the presence of the former PLC CEO/GM Mr. D P Kumarage and former Chairman of People’s Leasing Mr. Pardeep Amirthanayagam.
The most prestigious honor of the evening, the CEO’s Challenge Trophy for the Overall Category – 2024/25, was awarded to the PLC Battaramulla Branch in recognition of their exceptional performance across key financial and operational indicators. Reflecting the organization’s strong performance culture, the awards ceremony also recognized excellence across the network, with a total of 72 individual awards and 38 branch awards presented during the event.
Beyond business and financial performance, the evening also celebrated the diverse talents of the People’s Leasing family. The organization proudly recognized employees who excelled beyond the workplace, with teams & individuals representing People’s Leasing in sports and professional achievement competitions being honored for winning awards and bringing distinction to the brand through their exceptional talents and commitment.
