Mr. Karunajeewa was appointed as Chairman of the Board of People's Microfinance Limited in September 2010. At present, he is the Chairman of People's Bank, People's Leasing Co. PLC , People's Finance PLC, People's Leasing Fleet Management Limited, People's Leasing Property Development Limited, People's Insurance Limited and People's Leasing Havelock Properties Limited. He holds a B.Com Degree from the University of Ceylon and is an Attorney- at- Law.
Prior to his appointment as the Chairman of People's Bank, he also served as the Chairman of the Employees' Trust Fund (ETF) Board from December 2005 to May 2007 and as the Chairman of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation from October 2000 to December 2001. He held the position of a Working Director at the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation during the period July 1996 to October 2000 and had been a Working Director of the ETF Board during the period January 1995 to June 1996.
Mr. D. P. Kumarage
Managing Director
Mr. Kumarage was appointed as the Managing Director of People's Microfinance Limited in September 2010. He has been functioning as the CEO/GM of People's Leasing Co. PLC since September 1997. He is also the Managing Director of People's Finance PLC, People's Leasing Fleet Management Limited, People's Leasing Property Development Limited, People's Insurance Limited and People's Leasing Havelock Properties Limited.
He has over 32 years experience in banking and finance at People's Bank and retired as a Deputy General Manager. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Modern Banking and is a passed finalist of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK .He is the Vice President of the Asian Leasing and Finance Association and former Chairman of the Leasing Association of Sri Lanka. In addition, he serves as a Non-Executive Director of SANASA Development Bank and Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC. He is a Director of Financial Ombudsman Sri Lanka (Guarantee) Limited (FOSL).
Mr. Wajira Swarna Sri Bandara
Non Independent, Non Executive Director
Mr. WajiraBandara, was appointed as a Director of People's Microfinance Limited in September 2010. He is also a Director of People's Leasing Co. PLC and People's Finance PLC.
He is an Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public and holds a BA (Hons.) Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice and has served as a Director at the Ceramics Corporation.
