Any lease that is not a capital lease can be considered an operating lease. Operating lease is a vehicle hire scheme where the lessee pays a fixed hire charge to acquire the property for a small portion of its useful life. At the end of the hire term, the vehicle could be sold to the lessee at the residual value plus VAT, or else the vehicle will be taken over by People's Leasing Fleet Management Ltd. This has to be decided at the time of obtaining an operating lease and cannot be changed thereafter.
Vehicle hiring allows customers to pay a fixed hire charge for the use of a vehicle over a decided duration (weekly/monthly/etc.) on a limited mileage allowed by the hirer.
